The brokers' figures use the rate and fees from their own representative examples. Your rate depends on your finances and can be both lower and higher.
A personal loan (privatlån) is an unsecured loan. You do not pledge a home or a car, and you decide what the money is for. Instead, the bank assesses your income and your other loans.
Because the bank has no security, the rate is higher than for a mortgage. How much higher depends on your finances. Two people applying for the same loan can be offered different rates.
The nominal rate is the price of the loan itself. The effective rate also includes the fees and how often you pay. It shows what the loan costs per year, and it is the one you can compare between lenders. The full list, sorted by the effective rate, is on personal loans by effective rate.
Calculated at 6.00% nominal rate and no fees, as in Advisa's representative example.
| Amount | Term | Per month | Total | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SEK 50,000 | 3 years | SEK 1,521 | SEK 54,759 | SEK 4,759 |
| SEK 100,000 | 5 years | SEK 1,933 | SEK 115,997 | SEK 15,997 |
| SEK 150,000 | 5 years | SEK 2,900 | SEK 173,995 | SEK 23,995 |
| SEK 250,000 | 10 years | SEK 2,776 | SEK 333,062 | SEK 83,062 |
| SEK 400,000 | 12 years | SEK 3,903 | SEK 562,090 | SEK 162,090 |
A longer term means a lower monthly cost but a higher total cost.
Work out your own loanThe loan calculator shows the monthly cost and total for any rate and fee.Open the loan calculator No. Kreddo makes no credit check and never sees your application. A credit check is made only when you apply with a lender or broker.
With the lenders we compare, up to SEK 800,000. How much you get depends on your income, your other loans and what you have left to live on each month (KALP). The bank calculates at a higher rate than the one you get, to leave a margin.
A broker sends your application to several banks at once and you choose between the replies. A bank answers only for its own loan. A broker normally makes a single credit check, however many banks reply.
Yes. You may always repay an unsecured loan early and pay interest only up to the day you repay. At a variable rate the lender may not charge a fee for it. At a fixed rate, interest compensation (ränteskillnadsersättning) may apply. You also have a 14-day right of withdrawal.
Lenders in Sweden assess applications against Swedish registers, so in practice you normally need a Swedish personal identity number (personnummer), to be registered as living in Sweden and to have income you can document. Check the requirements with the company before you apply.
