Common questions about credit cards

What are interest-free days?

The time between the purchase and the due date on the invoice, up to 56 days. Pay the whole invoice on time and there is no interest. If you pay in instalments, you pay interest on what is left.

Does a credit card affect my other loans?

Yes. Banks often count the whole credit limit as debt when you apply for a loan, even if you do not use the card. A card you do not need can be worth cancelling before you apply for a mortgage.

What does it cost to withdraw cash?

It varies between cards. Collector Purple charges 3%, minimum SEK 45. Interest is also often charged from the day of the withdrawal.

Is there a credit check?

Yes. The card company must assess whether you can pay before you get credit, and makes a credit check when you apply.
