To see what a loan costs each month and in total, the loan calculator is enough. If you have two offers with different rates and fees, the effective rate calculator shows which is cheaper in total.
Before you apply, How much can I borrow? shows what is left of your income each month and which loan that covers. If you have several credits today, Debt consolidation works out what they cost against one new loan over the same term.
The mortgage calculator works out the down payment, amortisation and interest in the first month under the 2026 rules, with a down payment of at least 10%. The savings calculator shows what a starting amount and a monthly saving can grow to with compound growth.
How the calculators work
Loans are calculated as annuity loans: you pay the same amount every month, and interest is charged each month on what is left of the loan. A loan of SEK 100,000 over 5 years at 8.90% costs SEK 2,071 a month. Of the first payment, SEK 742 is interest and SEK 1,329 is amortisation; of the last, SEK 15 is interest.
The effective rate is calculated with the method lenders must use in their representative examples under the Swedish Consumer Credit Act: all payments, including the setup fee and notice fees, converted to a yearly rate. Because interest is paid monthly, 8.90% nominal becomes 9.27% effective even with no fees. With a SEK 500 setup fee and a SEK 25 notice fee each month it becomes 10.06%.
The loan calculator warns you if the rate is above the interest rate cap of 22.00% or if the cost is higher than the amount borrowed. Neither is allowed for consumer credit in Sweden.
The savings calculator adds the return every month. 5% a year becomes 0.407% a month, the monthly return that gives exactly 5% over a year.
Common questions about the calculators
Do the calculators cost anything, and do I need to sign up?
No. The calculators are free, and you do not need to sign up or give your name, email or personal identity number to use them.
Is what I type saved?
No. The calculation runs in your browser, and the figures you type are not sent to us. The calculators store nothing, either in cookies or in your browser's storage. The only thing passed on is the loan amount and term, in the link from the calculator for how much you can borrow to the personal loan comparison, so that the list shows the same amount.
Is the result an offer?
No. It is a calculation based on the figures you enter. Kreddo is a comparison service, not a bank or a loan broker, and takes no applications. The lender decides which rate and amount you can get after a credit check.
Why does my bank show a different figure?
The bank uses the rate and fees it offers you after its credit check. When it assesses how much you can borrow, it also uses its own stress-test rate (kalkylränta) and its own living costs. The calculator only uses what you enter.
Which rate should I enter?
The nominal rate, that is the interest rate without fees. In the loan calculator and the effective rate calculator the setup fee and notice fee have their own fields, and the calculator works out the effective rate itself. If you enter the effective rate as the nominal one, the fees are counted twice. In the savings calculator you enter the yearly return you want to test instead.
Is the interest deduction included?
In the mortgage calculator, yes: 30% of the interest up to SEK 100,000 a year and 21% of anything above that. There has been no deduction for unsecured loans since 2026, so the loan calculator works without one.
Can I use the calculators on my phone?
Yes. They work in your phone's browser without an app, and the fields for amounts and rates open the number keypad.
